The heavy-duty fibreboard barrel is a modern, industrial-grade packaging solution specifically engineered for the storage and transportation of batteries. Its design fully complies with the requirements for handling hazardous materials, such as damaged or defective lithium-ion batteries, and meets all relevant ADR regulations. This makes the barrel suitable for use under packaging instructions P903, P908, P909, and P910.

The barrel body is manufactured from high-strength, 280 gram kraft paper with a minimum wall thickness of 2.5 mm, ensuring exceptional durability and a long service life. The removable lid is secured with a stainless-steel locking ring, providing both reliable closure and easy handling. One of the key features of this drum is its fire-retardant inner packaging, which significantly reduces fire and explosion risks, making it especially suitable for battery storage and transport.

The barrel holds UN certification, confirming its compliance with international standards for the shipment of dangerous goods. For optimal safety, the barrel is recommended for indoor storage only, in well-ventilated and fire-protected areas. Outdoor storage is not advised, as exposure to precipitation and UV radiation may compromise the structural integrity and fire protection capabilities of the packaging.

This product is user-friendly: the locking lid allows for quick access, while, when closed, it protects the contents from damage and contamination.

Inner packaging

CIRRUX® is an ideal packaging material for shipping defective Li-ion batteries. It is non-conductive, inert, non-flammable and has low thermal conductivity.

Extover ® granulate displaces oxygen and separates it from the fuel. Like glass, Extover® melts at a certain temperature. The granulate absorbs a lot of heat in the form of melting energy, thereby cooling the fire and forming at the same time an impermeable layer over the fire load. A reaction with oxygen is effectively prevented.
